Preliminary hearing scheduled in Pueblo West murder case

A Pueblo teenager faces charges of murder, burglary, assault and theft in the death of a Pueblo West man last summer.
Torey Kuznicki, 17, was in court this afternoon in Pueblo for the first time. He was arrested in Illinois after an exhaustive investigation by the Pueblo Sheriff's Office. Officers believe he entered a home in Pueblo West in the middle of the night with burglary on his mind, but he was surprised by Michael Hopkins. Hopkins died on the floor of his home.
Kuznicki will face a preliminary hearing in March when the evidence against him will be presented. He will be prosecuted as an adult.
