President Obama rules out land invasion of Libya

WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama is categorically ruling out a land invasion of Libya to force Moammar Gadhafi out. Obama told the Spanish-language network Univision that an invasion is "absolutely" out of the question.

He also says the U.S. this week will pull back from its dominant role in the international effort to keep Gadhafi from attacking civilians. Obama says the U.S. will be in a "support role" -- providing intelligence and jamming. But he says the American forces will be "pulling back from our much more active efforts to shape the environment."
