The local job market just got 200 times better. Progressive Insurance plans to hire 200 new employees to work at their Colorado Springs call center.
The company is taking application from now until the end of January.
The company says they've had an influx of new customers and they need extra people to help take care of them.
Recruitment manager Chris Humlicek says some positions will involve taking incoming calls and handling billing issues, adding drivers, or other policy changes.
Other openings are for licensed sales agents to provide quotes and write policies for customers.
The pay ranges between $12-14 per hour and includes a benefits package with medical, dental and bonus pay for performance.
Other perks include an onsite fitness center for employees, tuition assistance and child care assistance.
"What we're looking for are folks who have some experience delivering customer service. We look for about 2 years or more of complex customer service delivery," Humlicek said.
He says a college degree is not required.
Progressive's Colorado Springs campus is one of six call centers nationwide. It has been open for just about 10 years and currently employs around 1,400 people. The new positions would increase that number to 1,600.
Humlicek says there is a very casual work environment at Progressive. They want their employees to be happy at work that way the company is well represented to their customers.
