Voters in Pueblo may be asked to approve a mill levy increase to help fund the animal shelter.
The Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region runs the shelter in Pueblo. This week Pueblo City Council extended their contract through the end of the year, giving them nearly $100,000 a month. However that's much lower than the Humane Society had requested.
This Thursday the Humane Society, City and County leaders will meet again to talk about possibly asking voters to support a mill levy increase. We'll let you know what happens at that meeting.
