Pueblo city councilmembers voted 4-3 to pass an ordinance aimed at vacant and rental properties. The ordinance does not include owner-occupied properties.

After two hours of public comment Monday night, the council voted to pass an adaptation of the international property maintenance code. People against the ordinance say the code isn't much different than current laws and that it does little about funding or enforcing the new law. Those for the ordinance say something has to be done about blighted properties around the city and this ordinance gives the city the power to do so.
