The president of Pueblo Community College has resigned, effective immediately. Dr. J.D. Garvin took the position in June 2007.

A spokesperson for the Colorado Community College System says Dr. Garvin resigned for personal reasons. "I want to thank Dr. Garvin for his years of service to the college and wish him well in his future endeavors, "said Dr. Nancy McCallin, CCCS president.

Cliff Richardson, a Pueblo native and the Vice President of Administration and Finance for CCCS, will take over leadership of the PCC while the system finds a new president.

Colleen Armstrong, VP of Administration and Finance, Cindy Mihelich, VP of Student Services, and Laura Solano, VP of Learning will assume the responsibilities of daily operations and report to Richardson.

Prior to joining PCC, Dr. Garvin served 23 years in the U.S. Air Force.
