Pueblo cops search for mom and dad ID theft suspects

PUEBLO - Investigators with the Pueblo Police Department are asking the public for help identifying two young people who filled up their minivan using money from a stolen wallet.

The theft happened last Monday, July 15, at 10:10 p.m. at the south side Walmart at 4080 W. Northern Avenue. The owner of the wallet left it behind at a cash register.

Store surveillance video shows the woman grabbing the wallet and passing it to the man who tried to hide it behind a 2-3 year old child sitting in a shopping cart. When that didn't work, he hid the wallet in a grocery bag.

Minutes later, video from a nearby Loaf n Jug convenience store shows the same man pumping gas into a red minivan and paying with contents from the stolen wallet.

The man is described as being Hispanic between 20-30 years old. He was wearing a black shirt, black shorts, dark colored shoes and may have tattoos on both arms.

The woman is described as being either white or Hispanic and is also between 20 and 30 years old. She was wearing a gray shirt, black shorts, black flip-flops, with her hair pulled up.

The minivan appears to be either a Ford Windstar or Kia Sedona, either solid red or maroon.

Anyone who may recognize the suspects is encouraged to call Pueblo Crime Stoppers at 542-STOP (542-7867) or visiting
