Craver Middle School in Pueblo County's D-70 has been closed for the remainder of the week because 40% of students are absent with flu-like symptoms. A preschool class at Pueblo West Elementary will also be out this week as students recover.

Last Friday, the Pueblo City-County Health Department reported that several people were hospitalized with H1N1 swine flu, with one person in the Intensive Care Unit on a respirator. The health department reports that swine flu is widespread in Pueblo County and urges social distancing, hand washing, and isolating sick people are measures to combat the flu.
