Pueblo man arrested for child sex assault

A Pueblo man was arrested early Saturday morning on charges of sexually assaulting a child. Jared Austin Eppens, 23, is being held without bail at the Pueblo County Jail. He's suspected of having sex with a 14 year old girl in the bushes near a motel in the 2000 of Hudson Avenue.
According to a report by the Pueblo Chieftain, both Eppens and the victim told officers the sex was consensual. A witness at the motel called police and when officers arrived Eppens tried to run away. Eppens has open warrants for escape, assault and domestic violence.
