Colorado State Patrol is investigating a deadly crash at the intersection of Highway 50 and Pueblo Boulevard.
The crash was reported around 10:45 a.m. Witnesses say a 2005 red Suzuki hatchback traveling northbound on Pueblo Boulevard veered into the southbound lane as it approached the intersection of Highway 50. That driver then drove into a dirt area, crossed the eastbound lanes of Highway 50 and rolled into a ravine, according to CSP. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
Investigators say the 63-year-old man from Pueblo was ejected as the vehicle became airborne and rolled end-over-end into the ravine, which was estimated to be about 18 feet deep. The driver was the only person inside that vehicle.
Troopers tell News 5 he was not restrained at the time of the crash. Right now they do not have an indication of speed.
The coroner is investigating what may have led to this crash.
