Pueblo man wanted for causing accident that killed 16-year-old girl, fleeing scene

PUEBLO - Pueblo Police are asking for help finding a man accused of crashing his car, then running away from the wreck as a 16-year-old passenger lay dying.  Police say Frankie Perea, 26, was driving the maroon Cadillac that lost control and crashed into a power pole at the corner of Pueblo Blvd. and Northern Ave. last Friday.  Witnesses reported seeing several people running from the wreckage.  When police arrived, they found 16-year-old Bernadette Trujillo dead in the vehicle.

Perea is wanted on charges of vehicular homicide, failure to reamain at a scene involving death and driving under suspension.  A $500,000 cash-only bond warrant has been issued.

Anyone with information about Perea's whereabouts is asked to contact Pueblo Police.
