Pueblo pot moratorium extended

Pueblo City Council has voted to extend a moratorium on medical marijuana dispensaries in the city. The moratorium will now last until June, which is when state legislators are expected to make their ruling on the issue.

Before councilmembers voted, the meeting was open to public comment. Several people took the podium, from the lawyer for one dispensary owner, to employees of another. All spoke out against extending the moratorium.

There was a motion to table tonight's decision until council's February 8th meeting, but that motion was defeated.
