Pueblo high-schoolers are trying to get everyone ready for Thanksgiving.

They spent the day helping Tom and Louie's Cupboard with loading up boxed meals at the State Fairgrounds Saturday; making sure they get all the essentials for a Thanksgiving meal together.

"There's tons of things; potatoes, beans, rice, it comes with a turkey and a couple of pies as well," says Tyler Rode, a Pueblo East student loading up boxes.

After getting the boxes prepped, the students made the rounds and dropped them off at homes around Pueblo

"When you hand them the food they're so grateful. You see the kids, and the kids are so excited; I mean I've had kids help me carry stuff from my car. They're running out to greet me. I honestly... It's just the greatest felling in the world," says Collin Baxter, a Pueblo West student. Baxter says this is his third year to help out, and that it's a good chance for the students from different high schools to get to know one another while helping Pueblo at the same time.

Those students passed out about 600 meals on Saturday.
