Pueblo teen killed on Beulah Highway

An 18 year old from Pueblo was killed in a car accident on Colorado Highway 78, the Beulah Highway, about 10 west of Pueblo early Saturday morning. State troopers report that Carlos Torres was driving in a 1996 Jeep Cherokee when, at around 4:50 a.m., he lost control at a curve in the road.
The Jeep broke through a barbed wire fence and vaulted over 120 feet before hitting some trees. Torres was ejected and died on the scene. The Jeep landed on its top and caught fire.
Speed and alcohol are being investigated as factors in the crash.
