After only 9 months in the position, Larry Howe-Kerr has resigned as District Manager of Pueblo West. Howe-Kerr submitted his resignation at Tuesday night's metro district board meeting. Board members voted 5-0 to accept his resignation. Howe-Kerr's last day is Friday. A newspaper report states he will receive $49,100 in severance pay.
Pueblo West Fire Chief Brian Caserta will fill in as interim District Manager. This is familiar territory for Caserta, who temporarily replaced former District Manager Don Saling who was fired by the board in March 2009.
The Pueblo West Metro District Board is already planning to search for a new District Manager. They'll hold a special meeting on Monday May 3 at 5:30 p.m. at 109 Industrial Blvd. in Pueblo West.
