Not the greatest of looking days here in Colorado. Some areas will see sunshine this afternoon, but not everyone. We're also continuing with the light rain... which will be possible on and off today. As for some sunshine, those in the southeast corner are seeing some breaks from the clouds. We're not looking at as much rain as we had yesterday, but scattered showers will continue to be possible. It should all be the light rain and not the heavy, strong storms that we see with the sunshine.
Here's what it looks like for the month of July. 4.52" of rain for July so far in the Springs, 3.28" in Pueblo. And we still have today to add to the precip for the month. But we are running well above average, running very close to last year's July rain totals. Looks like we'll have the 17th wettest July on record.
Temperatures will once again stay cool. Highs today a couple degrees warmer than yesterday but not by much. Highs will stay near 70 for Springs and mid 70s for Pueblo. These highs are still well below average.
Big picture showers the pattern slowly starts to break. Low to our northeast will move east allowing for more of a southwest influence. But this is going to be very slow, so the warm up will take a while.
We'll see slow improvements heading into the weekend. We'll see more sunshine gradually and more heat. Temperatures trying to get back up to normal for the weekend, but still a bit cool. We'll have to keep spotty showers in the forecast but at least it's backt o the pop-up PM showers instead of the all day rain. Next week we could see more widespread rain again on Wednesday.
Enjoy the cooler weather while it lasts... Meteorologist Valerie Abati
