Men's gymnastics is not a sanctioned sport by the Colorado High School Activities Association but there are many young men competing on club teams all over Colorado. And one of those gymnasts is this week's "Loaf ‘N Jug High School Athlete of the Week." Congratulations to senior Nick Gaudlip who attends Rampart high school.

Nick belongs to the Colorado Training Center team which trains at the Olympic Training Complex. He placed second at the recent regional meet and next week he'll compete at the Junior Olympic National Meet in Long Beach.

Nick's been a gymnast ever since he was seven and told News First 5's Jordan Mason it's good for the sport that he was selected "Athlete of the Week." "It's kind of cool just because gymnastics is a sport that doesn't get a lot of recognition," said Nick. "Hopefully some little kids see this and start gymnastics and have a lot of fun with it."

Nick will be attending the Air Force Academy next year and be part of the Falcons gymnastics team.
