The Housing & Building Association of Colorado Springs tells News 5 it was a great opening weekend for the Parade of Homes. Nearly 30 homes in areas including Flying Horse and Wolf Ranch are a part of the tour.
Shirley Rouse with the Parade of Homes says this shows that people are excited to buy.
Realtors agree, saying it's a great time to buy in Colorado Springs. They say if a home is priced right it will spend less than 60 days on the market on average. Homes priced below $300,000 tend to do better on the market than those priced above $500,000.
"People need to be very strategic in the way that they're pricing," says Mike MacGuire, with Platinum Group Realtors. "You need massive exposure to as broad an audience as possible. Understand that the consumer today knows so much more."
That includes what you paid for the house, how long you've lived there and price sales in the neighborhood.
The renter's market is also strong too. MacGuire says retanls under $2,000 a month will be on the market for only a few days. Those priced above $2,000 will usually spend a longer time on the market.
