If you have old Christmas lights and you're not sure what to do with them, you can try recycling for a good cause!
Ace Hardware stores participate in the benefit Lights for Life.
Over several years they've donated nearly $50,000 to families and kids with cancer.
It's a goal that strives to make life easier for the families of those suffering from the disease.
"I think it's just a good way to, you know, the whole recycling process," said Manager Shelby Gacnik. "Some people throw them away and they're actually worth money, and to help out the kids is a great contribution."
Some stores are no longer accepting, so call before you go.
Others will accept lights and extension cords through February 15.
