DENVER (AP) - A federal grand jury in Denver has indicted an electronic-waste recycler accused of shipping thousands of computer and television monitors for disposal overseas, despite telling customers the monitors would be recycled in the U.S.

Executive Recycling Inc. is based in Englewood, Colo., but has affiliated locations in Utah and Nebraska.

The company, Brandon Richter and Tor Olson are charged with wire and mail fraud; environmental crimes in connection with the failure to file a notification to export hazardous waste; exportation contrary to law; and destruction, alteration or falsification of records.

Prosecutors say Richter was owner and former chief executive officer for the company while Olson was vice president of operations.

They are due in court Thursday.

A phone message asking the company for comment Friday wasn't returned.
