PUEBLO - The Denver Broncos and the Pueblo Parks and Recreation Department want boys and girls in Southern Colorado to show off their football skills this fall by taking part in the annual Punt, Pass and Kick contest.
Those children who tally the most yards between the three skill areas can win the chance to perform at a Broncos home game in December.
Mike Sexton, Assistant City Manager of Parks and Recreation, is also the regional chairperson for the NFL's Punt, Pass program in and Colorado, Arizona, Kansas, Montana, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming.
He said visiting the stadium can be a life-changing event for young people.
"We get to go out on the field and listen to their name being called and they get to throw a football when their name is being called to a cheer of 70,000 people out there, it's just great," Sexton said.
Participation is free. Children between the ages of 6 and 15 must register with the NFL prior to September 6 for the first local qualifier event at Lake Minnequa park in Pueblo.
