AURORA, CO- Two victims of the Aurora theater shooting are turning that tragic day into a positive memory.
Last July, Eugene Han and Kristin Davis were sitting in the theater for the premier of The Dark Knight Rises. Then, a gunman opened fire and Han was shot.
The shooting compelled him to do something he'd been considering for a while. Something that would change his life, and Davis'.
"Out of nowhere, he just starts talking to me, and he was like 'Well, I think we should get married on July 20th.' And I was like, of this year?' And he goes 'Yeah, why not?' It'll help us to remember totally differently rather than the day we could've died, it's the day we get to spend the rest of our lives together," Davis said.
Han was shot in the knee and hip in the attack. He made a full recovery. He is able to walk and run, though he will have shrapnel in his hip for the rest of his life. Davis only suffered scratches after Han pushed her to safety.
