COLORADO SPRINGS- A new report shows a decrease in the number of homeless veterans in
Colorado. According to the Annual Homeless Assessment Report to Congress, from 2012-2013 the
state moved 827 veterans off the streets.
The U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) credits a variety of specialized programs and
non-profit partnerships with decreasing rates.
The VA estimates that nearly 300,000 veterans are homeless on any given night.
