PRESCOTT, Ariz. (AP) - A report will detail how 19 members of an elite firefighting crew died while battling an Arizona wildfire.
The Arizona State Forestry Division will present the report to the men's families ahead of a news conference planned for Saturday morning in Prescott.
The roughly 120-page report is expected to outline weather conditions, communications and logistics in the hours before the Prescott-based Granite Mountain Hotshots died on June 30.
Officials say it will not assign blame.
The fire initially caused little concern because of its remote location and small size. But winds quickly drove flames into a brush-choked canyon about 80 miles northwest of Phoenix.
The firefighters became trapped and deployed emergency shelters. Only one member of the crew who was assigned as the lookout survived.
