Search and Rescue crews from at least three counties are trying to find a plane that disappeared from radar yesterday afternoon in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains.

The tower lost contact with the single engine Piper, which can hold six, when the plane was near Blueberry Peak. The plane was enroute from Phoenix to Pueblo.

At least 20 people from Fremont, Custer and Huerfano counties are involved in the search, which now centers on Music Pass, southwest of Westcliffe. A plane from Colorado Springs was in the area this morning, but cut off the search before 10 a.m. due to poor weather conditions.
