The residents of a home that exploded and burned overnight in Colorado Springs are still missing.

Fire officials say they don't know if a 74-year-old woman and her 51-year-old son were inside the home at the time of the blast, but the missing pair haven't contacted authorities.

The home was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived, prompting an immediate second alarm.

Smoke could still be seen by morning commuters on Academy Blvd. in the Chelton area, hours after the explosion.
