Chilly afternoon across southern and southeastern Colorado. At 3pm, temperatures ranged from 48° in Black Forest to 61° in Westcliffe. For most of the area, these are temperatures we would normally be seeing the during March.
The cool weather will be short lived as temperatures start to climb as early as Thursday. We'll have partly to mostly cloudy skies across the region. There could be scattered showers and a few thunderstorms but that should remain over the southern half of the area.
There appears to be a good chance a large portion of southern Colorado could approach or exceed the 100° mark Sunday through Monday. I don't think we'll be breaking any records, but we will be within 3°-5°. - Meteorologist John Dissauer
