ALMA, Neb. (AP) - Officials are investigating the disappearance of 450 steers from Hayes and Hitchcock counties in southwest Nebraska.

The Colorado owners of the Holsteins are offering a $10,000 reward for information regarding their disappearance.

Bob Elliott is the assistant branch manager of Producers Livestock Marketing Association at Greeley, Colo., and he said Monday the steers were placed in a Nebraska grow yard through the association's feeding and grazing program.

He says the cattle were bought in Colorado and then moved to Nebraska.

Dave Horton is a Nebraska Brand Committee investigator from Alma. He confirms that he is investigating the case but won't release more information.
