Robberies in Fountain linked to craigslist ad

The Fountain Police Department has received reports of two armed robberies occurring in the 7200 block of Alegre Circle, near Southmoor Drive and Highway 85, both related to ads on craigslist.

In both cases the victims responded to an internet advertisement for a used car.  In both cases, when the potential buyer met the seller, he allegedly pulled a gun and demanded money and fired several shots.

In both cases the suspect is described as a black man, aged 20 to 30.  The police investigation continues and no one has been arrested.

The police department advises when meeting someone for the first time do it in a public place with good lighting.  Officers also recommend making sales transactions at a bank.
