DENVER (AP) - An astronaut from Colorado is on track to arrive at the International Space Station after a delay.
The rocket carrying Steve Swanson and two Russian cosmonauts was set to dock with the space station Thursday evening.
The trio blasted off from Kazakhstan on Wednesday on what was supposed to be a six-hour "fast track" to the space station. But an engine burn intended to adjust the Soyuz spacecraft's path never occurred, delaying the docking. The American and two Russians on board were not in danger.
Swanson, who is making his third trip to space, grew up un Steamboat Springs and graduated from the University of Colorado. He lives in Houston with his wife Mary and their three children.
