Rockies recall RHP Scahill, option OF Blackmon

DENVER (AP) - Seeking another arm for their taxed bullpen, the Colorado Rockies recalled right-hander Rob Scahill from Triple A Colorado Springs.

Outfielder Charlie Blackmon was optioned to Colorado Springs to make room for Scahill, who is up with the Rockies for a third time this season and is available for Wednesday night's game against the Houston Astros.

The addition of Scahill gives the Rockies 13 pitchers in the bullpen.

In his two previous stints with the Rockies this season, Scahill made two scoreless appearances over 5 1-3 innings with two hits and two strikeouts.

He was 3-0 with a 4.60 ERA and one save in 14 appearances for Colorado Springs.

Blackmon hit .240 with a homer, two RBIs and four runs scored in 12 games with the Rockies.
