The Colorado Rockies began a four game stint in the big apple with a 3-1 win over the New York Mets. Daniel Murphy drove in David Wright on a first inning single to give the Mets an early lead. Then in the fifth, Tyler Colvin crushed a pitch from R.A. Dickey, bouncing it off the upper decks in right field to tie the game.
Jonathan Herrera scored the winning run off a wild pitch in the 8th inning and catcher Ramone Hernandez drove in Dexter Fowler for the insurance run in the 9th.
Rex Brothers loaded the bases in the bottom of the eighth, but Matt Belisle was able to narrowly beat a sliding Jordany Valdespin to first base to save the inning. The win is Colorado's sixth in the past eight games.
