The District 11 School Board has approved the sale of Lincoln Elementary School.
The school closed at the end of the school year along with two others in the district as part of a cost-cutting move.
Local developer Bob Elliott, with The Downtown Development Group, LLC will purchase the property for $1.2 million, as is with no warranties. The school board approved the sale unanimously with a vote of 6-0, one board member was absent.
Elliott tells our news partners at The Gazette he'd like to use the campus for philanthropic work, possibly affordable housing.
