The Salvation Army wants to renovate its building in Pueblo to provide permanent shelter for the homeless, but they're asking for your help. The non-profit group is trying to raise $700,000 in donations to fund the renovation project.
For starters, the Salvation Army says it plans to install showers, build a laundry room and remodel the kitchen. The building, which was built in the 1950s, also needs some other improvements.
The Salvation Army says its received a $200,000 Community Development Block Grant from the City of Pueblo. Also, the organization earmarked $50,000 of its funds for the project. Their goal is to raise the remaining 450,000 through private donations.
If you would like to help, you can make a donation by contacting the Salvation Army at 520 W. 13th St. or by calling them at 719-543-3656.
