It'll be another tough commute in the San Francisco Bay area, as the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge remains closed for a second day.
Officials say crews need more time to repair the bridge, after 5,000 pounds of metal tumbled down during Tuesday's evening rush hour.
The pieces were parts of major repairs done last month after state inspectors discovered a crack in a structural beam. Only one motorist was left with minor injuries after Tuesday's incident. The bridge normally carries about 280,000 commuters every day. Transit officials say that many of them jammed alternate routes yesterday and crowded into buses and trains as they tried to get into San Francisco.
There is no estimate for when the bridge will open again as crews are scheduled to work through the night and morning.
