Saturday double shooting marks city's 20th and 21st homicides

A double shooting Saturday night in Colorado Springs is ruled a homicide, the suspect is on the run and considered armed and dangerous.

Police were called out to the area of Platte Avenue near Juanita Street Saturday night at 10:44 p.m. When they arrived, they found Camille Root, 24, and Daniel Castaneda, 22, dead from gunshot wounds.

Their deaths mark the city's 20th and 21st homicides for 2013.

Detectives continue to search for Gary Glen Vigil who they believe is the suspect. Vigil is a Hispanic male, 5'6", 180 pounds with very short black hair and brown eyes. He has multiple tattoos on his chest, neck and arms.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Vigil for Murder in the 1st Degree. He is to be considered "Armed and Dangerous."
