Sculpture damaged in Pueblo

Someone broke a $5,000 sculpture in downtown Pueblo and left the public to pay the bill. The piece consists of a large concrete medallion with insets shaped like doves. It was on display at the corner of 3rd and Santa Fe near the Pueblo Chamber of Commerce and Sangre de Cristo Arts Center.

Detective Carol Brown with the Pueblo Crime Stoppers says they are searching for the person or persons responsible for breaking the piece. It was on loan to the Pueblo Downtown Association and due to the sheer size of the work, Det. Brown suspects that more than one person is responsible for the vandalism.

Crime Stoppers will pay a cash reward for information that leads to the arrest of those responsible. Call 542-STOP (7867) or click www.pueblocrimestoppers.com to leave an anonymous tip.
