El Paso County Search and Rescue is warning hikers and recreational 4 wheelers to be prepared for a long wait if they go out tonight or tomorrow morning. An impending snow storm is expected to make conditions hazardous.
Steve Sperry with El Paso County Search and Rescue released a statement Tuesday afternoon which says, "people that choose to go up on Pikes Peak hiking, or up on Rampart Range Road to go four wheeling tonight and/or tomorrow should take extra precautions because weather conditions may preclude Search and Rescue from being able to make a timely response to their emergency situation."
Sperry said it could take 8 to 12 hours to respond depending on the work load.
