(NBC) - The search for a South Korean soldier involved in a mass shooting near the border with North Korea continues.
South Korean officials say the soldier at large shot and killed five of his fellow unit members and injured five others Saturday night.
The shooter opened fire with his standard issue K-2 assault rifle at an outpost near the heavily armored border with North Korea. Officials say he fled with his weapon.
The South Korean defense ministry says search operations were underway to quickly find the soldier, who was scheduled to be discharged from the military in September.
