Search dogs training in Pueblo

PUEBLO, Colo. (AP) - Search and rescue dogs from across Colorado will be training this weekend at Lake Pueblo state Park. Ten search teams will practice water search skills while divers from the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office Emergency Services Bureau will take turns being mock victims. Officers will use a special raft to go over the lake while the dogs practice giving alerts that a victim is underwater.
Divers are outfitted with special underwater audio communication equipment that allows them to contact boat drivers and dog handlers above the water. The training continues Sunday.
