SALIDA, Colo. (AP) - Searchers are gathering to look for two hikers who are missing on a hiking trip.

Colorado National Guard spokesman Darin Overstreet says a National Guard helicopter will join the search when it resumes at 8 a.m. on Thursday.

Chaffee County Sheriff Pete Palmer says Dr. Michael Von Gortler and his daughter, 20-year-old Makana, went to Missouri Mountain on a hiking trip.

Their family last heard from them on June 21 and they were supposed to return home on Friday.
