WASHINGTON (AP) - An initial Senate vote on whether to authorize a U.S. military strike in Syria has been postponed by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, who cites what he calls "international discussions." The vote was supposed to take place Wednesday.
The delay comes amid signs of a possible diplomatic solution. U.S., Russian and Syrian officials today have all spoken of the possibility of Syria putting its chemical weapons supplies under international control, in preparation for the destruction of those weapons.
