(Photo from Portland NBC affiliate KGW) NBC News reports the Oregon coast took a pounding from a storm that blew ashore this past weekend. The storm contained record-setting rainfall and powerful wind.
The rain and wind were fierce, and anything not tied down was thrashed by the wind. Gusts in excess of 60 mph were reported. Trees were toppled by that gusty wind.
Driving was tricky, too, as many highways experienced limited visibility.
High surf also created dangerous conditions, as the angry ocean pounded the beaches.
This storm will bring warmth and an increase in cloud cover to parts of Colorado today, but any rain and snow is expected to stay well north and over Montana and Canada and the storm system marches east.
