Serious accident in I-25 ties up northbound traffic

El Paso County Sherrifs Office dispatch has just confirmed a serious traffic accident on northbound I-25 at mile marker 158 which is just north of the Baptist Road exit. Traffic is reported to be at a total stand-still at this time. There is a secondary accident about a mile south of the first in the median but crews are able to get those vehicles moved to Baptist Road.
Early reports state the orriginal accident may be a head on collision but that has not been confirmed by Colorado State Patrol or El Paso County Sheriffs Office. Emergency crews are working to get traffic detoured around the accident site.
