Settlement proposed over Pueblo jet crash lawsuit

The families of two pilots killed in the Colorado crash of a jet owned by Circuit City have reached a proposed settlement with the federal government.

The lawsuit against the Federal Aviation Administration alleged that an air traffic controller was partly to blame for the crash near Pueblo in 2005. The pilots and six passengers were killed.

The attorney for the pilots' families, Bruce Lampert, says his clients settled with the government for a "nominal" amount of money. The deal still needs to be approved by a judge.

Lampert says a lawsuit will continue against plane manufacturer Cessna. Lampert says the lawsuit alleges that the design of the plane was to blame for the crash. The case is set to go to trial Monday.
