FLASH FLOOD WATCH until midnight for El Paso and Teller County.
You don't hear this often, but for today, the sun is a bad thing. We had a lot of clouds through the morning. But this afternoon, clouds are breaking for some sunshine. As the sun comes out, temperatures climb, and the instability increases. So the more afternoon sun, the greater our risk for storms is in the area. Any storms that develop could be on the severe side - meaning large hail, flooding rains, and strong winds. We'll keep storms in the forecast through the overnight too.
Wednesday will be similar to Tuesday. Morning clouds will be expected, followed by afternoon sunshine and t-storms. Some of the storms will be strong to severe with flash flooding possible. Please know what to do should a warning be issued where you are. As the clouds and storms reign, temperatures struggle to climb. Highs will stay in the mid 70s for Springs and low 80s for Pueblo.
Changes come for the end of the week. As we get closer to the weekend, we'll see more sunshine, less rain and warmer temperatures. The weekend right now is looking very nice with sunny conditions and seasonal temperatures.
