Sheriff draws up hazard plan

The Pueblo County Sheriff's Office is asking for help in drafting the Natural Hazards Mitigation Plan.  Comments from the public will be accepted through December 15.

The policy will identify the natural hazards in Pueblo County and the risk they pose.  The plan will also outline actins that may be taken to reduce or eliminate long-term risk related to those hazards.

Hazards may include drought, floods, severe weather, wildland fire, and disease. They each are naturally occurring events and have in fact, affected areas of Pueblo County in the past.

The NHMP can be found at the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office Website.
