Sheriff's Office to offer emergency training for volunteers

The El Paso County Sheriff's Office will offer training to groups of citizens who may wish to help others during an emergency.

Called Community Emergency Response Team training, would be helpful during a major disaster.  Trained individuals would be able to aid law enforcement, fire fighters and other branches of government.

The Sheriff's Office Emergency Services Division will provide this training to groups at no cost. It is recommended no less than 15 participants per class. Most training can be completed in 3 sessions, totalling about 16 hours. For more information, or to schedule an initial on-site visit, contact Ellen Lacey at 719-575-8400 or email her at ellenlacey@elpasoco.com.
