Sheriffs file suit over new gun laws

DENVER - The sheriffs from 54 of Colorado's 64 counties along with disabled gun owners and female gun owners filed a civil rights suit in federal court today against the state over the recently passed high capacity magazine ban and expanded background check laws.
The plaintiffs are being represented by attorney David Kopel, an adjunct law professor and member of the non-profit public policy research group the Independence Institute.
The sheriffs believe the laws would force the to violate the Constitutional rights of gun owners in order to be enforced.
