Shoplifters lead Colorado Springs Police on wild foot chase

Colorado Springs Police were led on a wild foot chase by 3 suspects involved in what was originally described as a shoplifting attempt. When Loss Prevention Officers from the Safeway Store located at 3275 W. Colorado attempted to detain the suspects one suspect displayed a weapon. At that point the Loss Prevention Officers backed off.

Police say that one of the three suspects may have handcuffs on and was temporarily in custody. In all, three suspects were being sought in the crime and now two are in custody. The one suspect still being sought is described at a Hispanic male in his mid 20's approximately 5' 6" tall, sporting a thin mustache, otherwise shaved, wearing a blue Shirt with thin white stripes and blue jeans. He was also last seen wearing a blue baseball cap as well, and may still be in handcuffs.

Two hand guns were recovered so it is unknown if the third suspect is armed or not. If you see anyone matching this description you are encouraged not to approach, instead call Colorado Springs Police at 444-7000.
